Material Introduction

South African Red Granite is a natural stone surface supplied in slab and cut-to-size formats. Because it is granite, the stone is hard and dense, and the surface resists scratching and most staining without sealing.

Applications

It is used for kitchen countertops, island tops, bathroom vanities, bar tops, stair treads, flooring, wall cladding and exterior paving. The speckled tone conceals dust and light scuffing, which suits both kitchens and busy public floors.

Advantages

Granite takes impact and abrasion better than marble, so counters and floors keep their finish under daily use. The surface is heat tolerant and resistant to most household staining without sealing. Speckled tones hide crumbs, dust and minor marks better than pale stones.

Care and Maintenance

Clean with water and a pH-neutral cleaner; avoid acidic or abrasive products on polished surfaces. Granite rarely needs sealing, though a penetrating sealer can be applied to honed surfaces. Use trivets under hot pans. Entrance mats on floors reduce grit tracking, the main cause of dulling.

Loading
