Named after the village on the outskirts of the mountain Falakro in Northern Greece, Volakas River is one of the region's most well-known dolomite marble at an altitude of 830 meters thanks to the homonymous fossiliferous locality of Volakas.
"Volakas River" is a fine-grained stone accented with stripes of subtle taupe grey and ribbons of pale brownish veins that flow through an alabaster white background. Its classic predominant white setting gives the stone a natural intricacy and eye-catching versatility.
Undoubtedly, it is a "must-prescribe" for bookmatched residential and commercial projects. When unsealed, this natural artistic stone is highly susceptible to staining and etching; the characteristic swirls that run diagonally across the entire slab with cloudy or wavy patterns, grayish calcite lines, and round-shaped calcite crystal have large-scale movement that gives a different aspect of decoration when patterns are matched at the seams.

Quality Grade
We classify it into 3 grades:
Grade A: few pink hair lines & 1-3 crystal lines with width less than 2 mm per piece;
Grade B: a few pink hair lines & 1-3 crystal lines with width between 2 and 5 mm per piece;
Grade C: a few pink hair lines & some crystal lines with all different widths.
So the qualities will be like these:
1st choice: all grade A pieces, some pieces may not have pink hair lines but normally have crystal lines;
commercial choice ... with both grade A & grade B;
Low quality, with different qualities mainly for Mid-East market, certainly will have some bad pieces not accepted.

Professional Inspection
Before packing, our inspector will inspect all the goods' surface finish, thickness, and edge finish to see if they meet the customers' requirements, one piece by piece.
If the countertop need to be seamed, we will also put the seamed tops together to make sure the color and thickness are the same.
Loading
Experienced and professional workers will load the crates carefully to make sure the goods won't be easily broken.
After loading, fumigated wooden bundles will be braced between each crate to strengthen its stability.
