The term Verde Alpi green marble often refers generically to the serpentinite rocks extracted in northern Italy, in particular in the province of Aosta. For this reason, it is also often called Verde Aosta instead of marble Verde Alpi. Like the serpentine Prato marble, these are brecciated stones, variable in appearance, although it is almost always referred to as a dark green Alpi marble. However, the typical heterogeneity of the material also shows us slightly lighter shades.

A variety of this type of marble is Verde Alpi marble Rameggiato, characterized by the variable presence of lighter veins that contrast with the dark background.

The typical serpentine veins and the color variations tending towards dark green give Verde Alpi green marble unique characteristics.

Like the other Alpine and Apennine serpentinite rocks, the color tone of these Alpi green marble stones the Ancient Green Porphyry, also known as the Green Porphyry of Greece, or rather a serpentine that the Romans extracted in the Peloponnese and used extensively together with other polychrome marbles to decorate floors and walls, as we find in the floor of Villa Adriana in Tivoli.

Like other serpentines, Verde Alpi green marble is also a resistant rock that can be used for flooring and Verde Alpi marble tile wall claddings.

Grade A: few pink hair lines & 1-3 crystal lines with width less than 2mm per piece;
Grade B: a few pink hair lines & 1-3 crystal lines with width between 2 and 5mm per piece;
Grade C: a few pink hair lines & some crystal lines with all different widths.
So the qualities will be like these:
1st choice: all grade A pieces, some pieces may not have pink hair lines but normally have crystal lines;
commercial choice ... with both grade A & grade B;
Low quality, with different qualities mainly for Mid-East market, certainly will have some bad pieces not accepted.

Professional Inspection
Before packing, our inspector will inspect all the goods' surface finish, thickness, and edge finish to see if they meet the customers' requirements, one piece by piece. Loading
