Orange Yellow Onyx Polished Slabs For Tiles and Wall
Geologically, honey onyx is compact banded travertine composed of fine-grained calcite like all onyx. Orange onyx is translucent and can form stunning feature walls by placing lighting behind the onyx.
A common decorative technique used with onyx is book-matching. This is where one slab is cut from the block and polished. Then, another slab is cut from the block and polished on the reverse side of the slab. The result is two polished faces of onyx with reverse images of each other. It looks much like an open book, hence the term book-matching. Book-matching and back-lighting2 can be used on honey onyx, white onyx, and green onyx.
When the onyx is cut into slabs using the cross-cut technique, the white parts of the orange block form circular type patterns across the surface. And when the vein-cut technique is used, the white flows across the surface in a more linear pattern.

We classify it into 3 grades:
Grade A: few pink hair lines & 1-3 crystal lines with width less than 2 mm per piece;
Grade B: a few pink hair lines & 1-3 crystal lines with width between 2 and 5 mm per piece;
Grade C: a few pink hair lines & some crystal lines with all different widths.
So the qualities will be like these:
1st choice: all grade A pieces, some pieces may not have pink hair lines but normally have crystal lines;
commercial choice ... with both grade A & grade B;
Low quality, with different qualities mainly for Mid-East market, certainly will have some bad pieces not accepted.

Professional Inspection
Before packing, our inspector will inspect all the goods' surface finish, thickness, and edge finish to see if they meet customers' requirement, one piece by piece.
If the countertop need to be seamed, we will also put the seamed tops together to make sure the color and thickness are the same.
Loading
