Grigio Carnico marble derives its name from the place of extraction, the Carnic Prealps in Friuli. Grey Carnico marble quarries are explicitly located inside the Natural Park of the Friulian Dolomites at an altitude of 1,600 meters. As almost always happens in the case of marble extracted at high altitudes, Grigio Carnico marble quarries are operational only in the warm months since ice, snow, and adverse climatic conditions do not favor the extraction of this natural stone. Despite this concentrated production during the summer, Grigio Carnico marble is available in reasonable quantities and is generally extracted in medium-large blocks.

Quality Grade
We classify it into three grades:
Grade A: few pink hair lines & 1-3 crystal lines with a width of less than 2 mm per piece;
Grade B: a few pink hair lines & 1-3 crystal lines with width between 2 and 5 mm per piece;
Grade C: a few pink hair lines & some crystal lines with all different widths.
So the qualities will be like these:
1st choice: all grade A pieces; some pieces may not have pink hair lines but typically have crystal lines;
commercial choice ... with both grade A & grade B;
Low quality, with different attributes mainly for the Mid-East market, certainly will have some bad pieces not accepted.

Professional Inspection
Before packing, our inspector will inspect all the goods' surface finish, thickness, and edge finish to see if they meet the customers' requirements, one piece by piece.
If the countertop needs to be seamed, we will also put the seamed tops together to make sure the color and thickness are the same.
Loading
Experienced and professional workers will load the crates carefully to ensure the goods won't easily broken.
After loading, fumigated wooden bundles will be braced between each crate to strengthen stability.
